  • 2024 Swift Cool Yellow Rev concept to debut at Tokyo Auto Salon.
  • Will get blacked-out design touches and body decals.
  • Swift expected to launch in India sometime later this year.

Suzuki is all set to showcase a concept version of the fourth-gen 2024 Swift at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon motor show, slated to happen from January 12 to 14, 2024. Called the Cool Yellow Rev concept, the hatchback gets a couple of cosmetic enhancements, making it look a tad sportier than your standard affair.

As the name suggests, this concept is finished in Cool Yellow metallic paint, which is one of the new colours offered with the Swift. All the chrome and blingy elements on the grille and wheels have been blacked out, giving the hatch a much sportier look. And lastly, it gets body decals with ‘SWIFT’  lettering and a grey-coloured roof that stands out.

Considering that these are very minor alterations, don’t expect drastic changes inside the cabin of this concept. The Swift gets a new dashboard, whose design is similar to that of the Fronx and Grand Vitara. However, up here, it’s finished in black, grey and white that looks sporty. One of the main updates to the Swift is underneath the hood, as it packs a new 82PS 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. While the Japanese model gets just a CVT, in India, you can expect it to be offered with manual and automatic transmissions. You can check out how the new engine fares with the existing four-cylinder powertrain here

Maruti has already commenced testing the new Swift on our shores and it’s expected to hit showroom floors later this year. Expect it to command a premium over the current third-gen model, which starts from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Punch.
