2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Gets 1 BIG Change For South Africa Despite Being Made-In-India

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is soon set to debut in South Africa, also known as the “Rainbow Nation.” Like other models sold there, the Swift will also be exported from India for the South African market. And while both the India-spec and South Africa-spec Swift are largely similar in plenty of aspects, there is one big difference between both the cars. 

South Africa Swift: What’s The Change? 

The main change for the South Africa Swift comes in the form of the automatic transmission, where it uses a more sophisticated CVT. In India, the Swift gets a more cost effective 5-speed AMT. Both models come with a 5-speed manual as standard. 

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is soon set to debut in South Africa, also known as the “Rainbow Nation.” Like other models sold there, the Swift will also be exported from India for the South African market. And while both the India-spec and South Africa-spec Swift are largely similar in plenty of aspects, there is one big difference between both the cars. 

2024 Swift: Features Onboard 

No changes for the South Africa-spec Swift in this department. It comes with all the gizmos we get here such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, a wireless phone charger and keyless entry with push button start. 

Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera with sensors and electronic stability control. 

2024 Swift: Prices And Rivals 

Suzuki is yet to announce prices of the Swift in South Africa. In India, the hatchback is priced from Rs 6.49 lakh onwards (ex-showroom), putting it in contention with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios as well as micro SUVs such as the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.
