Suzuki has taken the wraps off the 2024 Swift hatchback in Germany, its third international market debut after Japan and the United Kingdom. The fourth iteration of the hatchback sports an updated exterior design, a brand new interior, plentiful new features and a smaller three-cylinder petrol engine.
Does the German-spec Swift differ in design from its Japanese counterpart? Not really and it looks largely similar. So you get the revised fascia with a Mini Cooper-like grille and new LED headlights, 16-inch dual-tone alloys and new LED tail lamps. That said, it still looks familiar as the silhouette is nearly identical to the outgoing model.
To take a closer look at the 2024 Swift, head to our in-depth image gallery.
On the inside, the 2024 Suzuki Swift gets a brand new dashboard that takes inspiration from newer Maruti models like the Grand Vitara and Fronx. In the Swift, it comes finished in a black and grey hue with white inserts that looks sporty. Also adding to the look is the flat bottom steering wheel and analogue dials with red needles.
In terms of features, the German-spec Swift comes packing with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger and keyless entry with push button start.
Your safety is taken care of by multiple airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD and most importantly, ADAS features.
Powering the 2024 Swift in Germany is Suzuki’s new 83PS 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, teamed with a mild-hybrid tech. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or an optional CVT. You can get the model there with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, the latter offered only with a stick shifter.
In India, the 2024 Swift is expected to get the new engine, paired with front-wheel drive as well as manual and automatic transmission options.
The 2024 Suzuki Swift has been spotted on multiple occasions in India and is expected to be launched later this year. As for prices, you can expect it to command a notable premium over the current model, which starts from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios as well as micro SUVs such as Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.
