The complete features list for the 2024 Swift has not been released yet, but it gets new features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and most importantly, ADAS. It is expected to carry over the feature-loaded Swift. Do note that the Grand i10 Nios is one of the most feature-loaded cars in its segment and shouldn’t be a threat when the Swift comes. Â

*Japan model specifications
Suzuki will introduce its new 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with the 2024 Swift, which will replace the existing 89PS 1.2-litre unit. While official power figures are not yet available, we anticipate that it will deliver similar performance to the four-cylinder unit.
Currently, the outgoing Swift can also be configured with a CNG kit, and we expect the same option to be available for the new powertrain. On the other hand, the Grand i10 Nios is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine, with the option to equip it with a CNG kit as well.
In Japan, the new Swift is available with just a CVT. However, for India, we suspect it to come with manual and automatic transmissions. It remains to be seen if Maruti will use the CVT or plonk in a cost-effective AMT, though, like the current model. The i10 Nios, on the other hand, gets a 5-speed MT and AMT.Â
Conclusion
Maruti is actively testing the new Swift on Indian roads, and it's expected to launch sometime next year. On the other hand, the Grand i10 Nios is a strong competitor to the Swift. It offers all the convenience features you need and comes at a slightly more affordable price point.
A more detailed verdict can be given when the next-gen Swift arrives to our shores sometime in 2024, so stay tuned...
