2024 new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift has been launched with 5 broad trims on offer: Lxi, Vxi, Vxi (O), Zxi and Zxi +. In this report, we give you a deep dive into the mid-spec Vxi (O) variant, which is a good option to consider for those looking at a right balance between price and features.
From the front, you will notice that the design remains identical to the top-end variants. It features a wide grille flanked by halogen projector headlights and the ‘Suzuki’ emblem placed above it. Take a closer look and you will see a chrome strip that has replaced the DRLs which are present on the higher variants of the hatchback. Another miss here are the fog lamps which are only available on the top-spec Zxi + variant.
In profile, the Vxi (O) variant of the Swift gets 14-inch steel wheels with plastic covers. The higher variants of the hatchback come with alloys which enhances the design of the Swift and makes it look much better. Apart from this, it gets body-coloured door handles and ORVMs.

From the rear, the hatchback features LED tail lights. However, it misses out on a rear wiper and washer which is available on the higher variants.
Enter the cabin and you will notice an all-black dashboard complemented by black fabric seats. The highlight of the cabin is the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The features list covers all the essentials that you could ask for on a daily basis, including 4-speaker sound system, all-four power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, USB charging port (in the front).. Additionally, it gets push start-stop button with smart key, electrically foldable ORVMs, and a host of connected car tech features over the Vxi variant.

The 2024 Swift is powered by a new petrol engine, which is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder unit producing 82 PS and 112 Nm. This engine can be had with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT – both of which are available in the Vxi(O) varaint. The new engine returns 24.8 kmpl with the manual and 25.75 kmpl with the AMT.
The 2024 Swift Vxi (O) variant is priced at Rs 7.57 lakh for the manual and Rs 8.07 lakh for the automatic. Head over to our launch story for full variant-wise pricing. The new-gen Swiftlocks horns with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, while being a hatchback alternative to the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite and Renault Triber.
