2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Zxi: Check Out The One-Below-Top Variant In 10 Images

The 2024 new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift has reached our shores and is available with 5 broad trims: Lxi, Vxi, Vxi (O), Zxi and Zxi +. In this report, we take you through the Zxi variant which packs almost all the features that the top-spec Zxi+ gets, but is priced significantly lower.

Exterior Design 

The Zxi variant features LED headlights with LED DRLs. This lighting setup flanks the wide grill which dominates the front. However, it misses out on the LED fog lamps, which are restricted to the top-spec Zxi+ variant. 

In profile, the Zxi variant of the hatchback is equipped with 15-inch monotone alloys instead of the dual-tone ones offered on the Zxi+. Apart from that, it also gets request sensors on both sides for keyless entry and ORVM-mounted turn indicators. 

From the rear, the new Swift sports LED tail lights as standard. The Zxi variant also features a rear wiper and washer, which are not available on the variants below. 

Cabin And Features 

Step inside and you will see an all-black dashboard and black fabric seats. To add contrast, the dashboard on the Zxi variant also gets silver inserts which are not available on the variants below. The cabin features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and misses out on the 9-inch unit available on the top-spec variant. 

The features list on the Zxi is pretty impressive considering that it is still not a top-spec variant. The list includes a 6-speaker sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, and automatic climate control.

Additionally, it also gets a wireless phone charger, rear AC vents, push-start/stop button with smart key, and a host of connected car tech features. However, it does miss out on features like cruise control, a rear parking camera, and auto fold ORVMs.

Safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and rear parking sensors. 

Powertrain 

The 2024 Swift features a new petrol engine, which is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder unit generating 82 PS and 112 Nm. This engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT, both of which are available in the Zxi variant. The new engine returns a claimed mileage of 24.8 kmpl with the manual and 25.75 kmpl with the AMT.

Price And Rivals

The 2024 Maruti Swift Zxi variant is priced at Rs 8.3 lakh for the manual and Rs 8.8 lakh (both ex-showroom) for the automatic. The new-gen Swift rivals the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, while being a hatchback alternative to the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Triber.
