Mercedes-Benz will be launching the new-generation version of the popular E-Class sedan on our shores tomorrow! It is a car that has maintained its charm over the years, and with significant updates (especially in the interior), we hope for it to do the same in this new avatar. Those of you who are interested to know what this new E-Class is all about, here is an overview of the luxury sedan ahead of its launch tomorrow!

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Design

Design-wise it carries over the design language of the outgoing model, albeit with new styling elements and tweaks here and there. It now sports a larger grille featuring tiny tri-pointed star inserts surrounded by chrome elements. The bumper has also been revised and the LED headlights are now sleeker.

Coming to the sides, it sits on newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels. While the outgoing model used to look long on our roads, this one is even longer (by 17 mm). The flush-fitting door handles are nicely integrated and come out electrically. 

The rear sports restyled LED tail lamps featuring tri-pointed star elements which add a cool touch to the rear design. The bumper design also receives minor changes, and the chrome elements add a bit of contrast to the overall look. 

The 2024 E-Class will be offered with five colour options: Obsidian Black, High Tech Silver, Graphite Grey, Polar White and Nautic Blue.

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Interior And Features

The interior receives more significant updates when compared to the exterior. After stepping inside, you will notice the new three display layout which features a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment and a 12.3-inch entertainment screen for the co-driver. Mercedes has used plenty of soft touch materials inside the cabin and it also gets 64 colours of ambient lighting which can be seen at many places such as the dashboard and door trims. 

Other premium features include four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, dual wireless phone chargers (front and rear), powered front seats with memory function, a 730W 17-speaker Burmester 4D sound system, and a powered tailgate.

Safety is taken care of by multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. It also gets some driver assistance features like lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. 

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Powertrain

The new E-Class will be launched with two four-cylinder engine options – a 2-litre diesel and a 2-litre turbo-petrol. These engines will also get a mild-hybrid tech which will additionally give a boost of 27 PS for 30 seconds. Power will be sent to the rear wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. With the introduction of the new model, it's a goodbye to the six-cylinder engine offered with the previous-gen model. 

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Expected Price And Rivals

We expect Mercedes to price the 2024 E-Class at around Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom). It will prove to be a tougher rival to the likes of the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6.
