The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has been long overdue an update but this may not be what the enthusiasts expected

Quick News Highlights:

  • 2025 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 seen being tested on public roads

  • The design looks unchanged

  • Will likely be based on the same platform as before

Bajaj Auto has started teasing the 2025 Pulsar RS200, marking the much-anticipated update to its only fully-faired motorcycle. Spy shots of the bike have surfaced online, offering glimpses into the expected changes, both in terms of features and mechanical components.

Design

The 2025 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 retains its signature design elements, such as the dual-projector headlights with eyebrow-like DRLs. The overall design of the fairing appears largely unchanged, although slight tweaks hidden by the testmule’s camouflage cannot be ruled out.

Features

While the bike's iconic silhouette remains the same, updates are expected to the feature set. One of the likely updates is the negative LCD console from the Pulsar NS200. This fully digital display includes Bluetooth connectivity, call and SMS alerts, distance-to-empty reading, real-time and average mileage, and turn-by-turn navigation.

Engine

Mechanically, the new Pulsar RS200 should continue to use the tried-and-tested 199.5cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This engine produces 24.4PS, 18.7Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox, with a slipper clutch. The long-in-use perimeter frame, clip-on handlebars, and split-seat setup are also expected to remain unchanged.

Underpinnings

However, the bike may see minor updates to its cycle parts. First up, the rear tyre seems to be wider than before. While the testbike here rocks a conventional telescopic fork, we hope Bajaj has a more top-of-the-line Pulsar RS200 with a USD fork, just like the one on the recently-updated Pulsar NS200.

Launch & Pricing

Bajaj Auto has been tight-lipped about the official launch details. However, speculation suggests the 2025 Pulsar RS200 could be launched this month. With these updates, the motorcycle is expected to see a slight price increase over the current model, which is priced at Rs 1.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
