5 Door Mahindra Thar Roxx: Take A Look At The Features Offered With Each Variant

The wait for the 5-door Mahindra Thar Roxx is over, with prices of the off-roader ranging from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom). That said, Mahindra is yet to announce prices of the four-wheel drive variants.. The Mahindra Thar Roxx 5-door off-roader is available in six broad variants: MX1, MX3, AX3L, MX5, AX5L, and AX7L.

Planning on getting one? Mahindra will officially open bookings on October 3, 2024 and deliveries are set to commence on Dussehra (October 12). But before that, we’ve made things easier for you by outlining what each variant of the Thar Roxx offers in terms of features and engine options. 

Mahindra Thar Roxx MX1 Variant

Price (ex-showroom): 

• MX1 RWD petrol MT - Rs 12.99 lakh

• MX1 RWD diesel MT - Rs 13.99 lakh

Do note that both engine options are only available with a manual transmission in the base MX1 variant.

The AX3L variant is only available with a diesel powertrain and is limited to a manual transmission. Looking for a four-wheel-drive option with the Thar Roxx? The MX5 variant is your entry point. However, the 4x4 drivetrain is only available with the diesel engine and manual transmission. The MX5 variant also includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a single-pane sunroof, leatherette seat upholstery, and an upgraded 6-speaker sound system. 

However, it lacks automatic climate control, connected car tech, and ADAS features found in the AX3L variant. Additionally, it features analogue dials with an MID instead of fully-digital driver’s display, and 15W type-C charging port instead of 65W one.

Mahindra Thar Roxx AX5L Variant

• AX5L RWD diesel AT - Rs 16.99 lakh

• AX5L 4x4 diesel AT - to be announced

Engine options:

• 152 PS/330 Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine with 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission

The AX5L variant doesn’t introduce new features but retains those found in the AX3L variant, including a digital driver’s display, connected car tech, wireless phone charging, and ADAS. It is available only with an automatic transmission paired with the diesel engine and comes in both rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrain options. 

Mahindra Thar Roxx AX7L Variant

The AX7L variant comes with all the bells and whistles. It is available with all engine options (except petrol MT) and both rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrain configurations. The main addition is the panoramic sunroof, along with other convenience features such as a 6-way power driver’s seat, ventilated seats, and a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
