Tata Motors is all set to finally unveil the highly anticipated Curvv (ICE) and Curvv EV models tomorrow, ahead of launch which will take place on August 7. The Tata Curvv is a SUV coupe that will slot in the extremely popular compact SUV segment and will be positioned above the popular Nexon. The Curvv models are expected to borrow plenty of features from the Nexon and Nexon EV, including ventilated seats, a 360 degree surround view camera, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
While we expect the Curvv to get packed up to the brim with all the comfort and convenience features, here’s a list of 5 features which it could get over the Nexon.
The Tata Curvv concept, which was earlier showcased at the Bharat Mobility Show, featured flush door handles, which enhanced the cleaner and sleeker profile of the vehicle. One of the teasers has confirmed the presence of this feature in the production-spec model and it will be the first Tata to get it.
Tata offers ventilated seats in a plethora of its cars all the way from the Punch EV to the Safari. While this feature will also make its way to the Curvv, we expect Tata to offer electrically adjustable driver’s seat for ease in choosing the desired seating position.
With the growing demand and popularity for cars offering a sunroof, the Tata Curvv will be equipped with a panoramic sunroof. The recently spied test mules were also spotted sporting this feature, confirming its availability in the upcoming SUV-coupe. .
While a lot of Tata models offer an automatic climate control unit, the dual-zone AC functionality is being offered exclusively in the Harrier and Safari. With the Curvv’s rivals such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos getting this feature, it is most likely the Curvv could get the dual-zone air conditioning system so the driver and co-driver can set their preferred temperature.
While the Curvv is expected to be equipped with all the current-age safety tech, it is highly possible that Tata could also offer ADAS (Autonomous Drivers Assistance System) features like blind-spot detection, lane-keep assist, emergency braking and adaptive cruise control in the Curvv, which is a miss in the Nexon.
Though it will be upon the unveiling of the Curvv, when everything will be confirmed, we expect all these niceties above the Nexon to make its way into the Curvv ICE and EV models. We expect the Tata Curvv to be priced around Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Curvv EV to be around the Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
The Tata Curvv (ICE and EV) will rival the upcoming Citroen Basalt and will be a SUV-coupe alternative to compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and EVs in the market like the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3 and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
