This year hasn’t been short of fireworks when it comes to car launches. From small, urban-friendly two-door EVs (read MG Comet) to blistering fast four-door coupes (read Mercedes GT 63 S E Performance), we’ve seen a fairly wide spectrum of cars being launched and it seems like the bombardment isn’t going to relax anytime soon as we’ve got five upcoming SUVs that could be launched as soon as this September this year. Here’s a list of them:
We’ve never been closer to the launch of the Maruti Jimny here in India. The wait is almost over and we say almost because the final stretch of the countdown is still to go. The 5-door Jimny could be launched in the first week of June with prices starting from around the Rs 10 lakh mark. Some units have already started reaching showroom floors and you can head here if you want to know what it feels like to drive one.
Honda’s first contender in the country’s highly cutthroat compact SUV space will break cover on June 6. Called the Elevate, it has been made specifically for India, although it will be sold in global markets as well. This SUV is expected to establish Honda in the SUV space, which the carmaker has been lacking for a while now. A launch could take place sometime post its global debut. Until then, you can read about everything there is to know about it here.
That Tata Punch will finally have an all-out nemesis when the Hyundai Exter goes on sale in the country on July 10. It promises to be a rugged micro SUV with segment-first features (psst… it gets ‘that feature’ on the roof) and an expansive safety kit as well. Prices could start from around the Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom) mark and you can know more about it in our story here.
The saga of the facelifted Kia Seltos coming to India has been an endless one. After contradicting rumours and reports, it seems like the compact SUV might just finally launch later this year, possibly this festive season. Just recently, a new spy shot confirmed a new premium feature that the facelifted Seltos will get. It will carry a premium over the outgoing model that starts from Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom)
The new generation of the GLC SUV will make its way to India by Q3 of 2023. The SUV had dropped covers back in June last year, which revealed its larger dimensions, increased tech and the electrification of its entire range via mild-, and plug-in hybrid options. The current GLC retails from Rs 62 lakh (ex-showroom), so expect the new-gen SUV to carry a steeper price tag.
This list indeed was a wide spectrum of SUVs spanning different sizes and segments. And while the launch of a few is just on the horizon, all of these SUVs should hit the market by September. Which one are you the most excited for?
