Honda has had a slow innings in India of late. More models have been discontinued than launched, with the only new arrival in recent times being the Elevate SUV. The brand loyalists have forever been asking for newer models and want a slice of their performance-oriented vehicles that have made a name for the brand globally.
While all we can do is ask, hope and pray for their arrival, our neighbours are lucky enough to enjoy a few of those nameplates that we seek. The carmaker’s lineup in Pakistan is rather diverse, and in this story, we take a look at 6 Honda cars sold in Pakistan that you don’t get here in India:
Price in Pakistan: Rs 2.2 crore (Rs 68.9 lakh converted to INR)
Car type: Sedan
Engine: 182PS/ 233Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with CVT
The Accord was once a nameplate that was sold in India, but was discontinued in 2020. In 2022, Honda came out with a new generation avatar globally, but that generation never made its way to India. It did, however, go to our neighbours in Pakistan. It’s available in a single variant, which is a fully imported unit, and costs Rs 2.2 crore in Pakistan.
If sold in India, the Honda Accord would’ve been a rival to the Skoda Superb and Toyota Camry.
Price in Pakistan: NA
Car type: SUV
Engine: 113PS/189Nm 2-litre NA petrol with CVT
Just like the Accord, the CR-V too was once a nameplate available in India. But when Honda stopped their plant operations in Greater Noida in 2020, the SUV too was discontinued. While there is an all-new CR-V available globally, Pakistan gets the previous gen model that was launched in 2018.
The CR-V SUV is also a fully imported unit, which is available in a single variant in Pakistan. If sold in India, the Honda CR-V would rival the likes of the VW Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Hyundai Tucson.
Price in Pakistan: Rs 76 lakh to Rs 79 lakh (Rs 22.92 lakh to Rs 23.67 lakh converted to INR)
Car type: Crossover-SUV
Engine: 119PS/145Nm 1.5-litre NA petrol with CVT

The new-gen Honda HR-V is an Elevate-sized compact SUV sold in international markets, but with a slightly different take on its shape, as it looks more like a crossover. It was launched in Pakistan in late 2022, and can be had in two variants: VTI and VTI-S. If not obvious already, the latter is a sportier-looking version of the standard SUV and unlike the above two models in this list, the HR-V is locally assembled in Pakistan.
If sold in India, the HR-V could’ve been a slightly different alternative to the slew of compact SUVs sold in India, and would rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq and Maruti Grand Vitara.
Price in Pakistan: Rs 86.59 lakh (Rs 25.95 lakh converted to INR)
Car type: Sedan
Engine: 127PS/180Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with CVT
The Civic is a Honda nameplate that has been shown a lot of love by us Indians with plenty of folks wanting one. Unfortunately, it was also discontinued along with the CR-V back in 2020. In Pakistan however, the nameplate’s latest generation is being sold via the fully imported route and even gets a turbo-petrol engine. It’s sold in three total variants, with the third variant being a performance oriented avatar.
If the Civic was still sold in India, it would pose as a premium alternative to the compact sedans like the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia and Hyundai Verna.
Price in Pakistan: Rs 98.99 lakh (Rs 29.66 lakh converted to INR)
Car type: Performance sedan
Engine: 176PS/220Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with CVT
Not only does Honda offer the standard Civic in Pakistan, but also its performance oriented RS version. While India is yet to even get a whiff of Honda’s performance prowess, the Civic RS makes its way to Pakistan via the CBU route and costs only Rs 12.49 lakh more than the standard Civic (in Pakistan Rupee), which is a difference of around 4.3 lakh in our currency.
If we were given the option of bringing just one car to India from this list, it would undoubtedly be this one. If sold in India, the Civic RS won’t have any direct rivals.
Price in Pakistan: Rs 62.99 lakh (Rs 18.88 lakh converted to INR)
Car type: MPV
Engine: 120PS/145Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with CVT
Before being discontinued back in 2020, India used to get the exact same Honda BR-V as the one being sold in Pakistan today. The family MPV is available in a single trim in Pakistan and is the only 7-seater option available in Honda’s Pakistan lineup – something that is currently missing in its India portfolio.
If still available in India, the Honda BR-V would rival the Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Rumion and Kia Carens.
The Japanese carmaker was once the benchmark setter in India, spoiling us with its immaculate build quality, performance and reliability. Given that most of these models in this list are fully imported units, we can’t help but wonder why we don’t get the same treatment.
Because not only would it quench the thirst of Honda loyalists but also help the brand relive the respect and glory it once used to enjoy on our shores. Hope you’re reading this, Honda.
