The Tata Curvv will be launched on our shores next month, with the EV version set to launch first on August 7. The Curvv’s SUV coupe body style will be its unique factor over conventionally styled SUVs. That being said, Tata will also be loading its upcoming SUV with plentiful features as hinted by a dealership source. In this story, we will be talking about the 7 features that the upcoming Tata Curvv will get over the Hyundai Creta, which has been dominating the compact SUV space in India.
A segment-first feature, which makes its way to the Tata Curvv. The flush-fitted door handles make the SUV coupe look sleeker and more modern. And adding to the premium look is the fact these door handles are illuminated. The Creta on the other hand, gets the conventional door handles.
The Tata Curvv will be equipped with a larger 12.3-inch infotainment system, compared to the Creta’s 10.25-inch unit. Other than having the size advantage, the Curvv’s system also offers wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple Carplay, which the Creta’s 10.25-inch unit misses out on.
Both Curvv and Creta get a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display that shows all the necessary information needed for the driver. However, the Curvv’s unit has a trick up its sleeve - it can display navigation on the instrument cluster while using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This feature helps drivers keep their focus and not rely on the centre screen for directions and information.
The feature-loaded Creta does not get a powered tailgate, which the upcoming Curvv will be getting. Additionally, you also get gesture controls for added convenience, and this specially helps when you have luggage in your hand and want to access the boot.
Both Curvv and Creta are equipped with the hill-ascent control, but it's the Curvv which gets the hill-descent control as well for added safety. Both these features come in handy when you take the SUVs for your occasional road trips in hilly areas.
The Curvv will be getting a 9-speaker JBL sound system, which comes with a subwoofer as well. The Creta on the other hand, gets a branded 8-speaker Bose sound system. The difference on paper is not a lot, but the Curvv gets the bragging rights here.
Unlike the other useful features on the list, this one is more of a feel-good addition. While both the SUVs get connected LED DRLs and LED tail lamps, the ones in the Curvv will feature a welcome and goodbye function, something that we have already seen on more premium Tata cars like the Harrier and Safari. You get to see different animations when you lock or unlock the car.
Let us know your thoughts about these extra features that the Tata Curvv will get over the Creta. Which one did you like the most?
