Jeep has re-introduced the Meridian X in the Indian market with some feature additions and cosmetic updates. Based on the base “Limited” variant, which is priced at Rs 29.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Meridian X commands Rs 50,000 premium over it, hence starting at Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Notably, the Meridian X package can also be opted for in higher trims like the “Limited (O)” and “Overland” variants by paying the same premium. The kit gets these additional 8 features as a package. The Meridian X gets a grey coloured roof, ORVMs and grey inserts on the 18-inch alloy wheels that makes it stand out from the rest of the variants.
The Meridian X gets side steps for better ingress and egress. This is an useful addition if elderly people will be frequently using the Meridian
The Meridian X’s interiors have an enhanced appeal with the inclusion of ambient footwell lights and sporty floor mats.
The Meridian X gets Jeep branded sunshades for all four windows, blocking harsh sunlight and giving you added privacy.
The Meridian X gets white coloured puddle lamps placed under the body. These underbody lights are useful if you have parked your vehicle in dark places.
An air-purifier comes along with the Meridian X, which takes up one cup-holder space. It ensures that the air you breathe in the car is free of pollutants.
The Meridian X also gets an optional rear seat entertainment package with dedicated screens for second row passengers. Perfect to keep your kids entertained in a long road trip.
The Meridian X gets a dual-channel front and rear dash-cam for improved safety in case of any miss-happenings.
The Jeep Meridian has always been a feature loaded SUV with niceties like a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, premium 9-speaker Alpine sound system, a 10.2-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, dual zone climate control and powered and ventilated front seats. On the safety front, it gets 6-airbags as standard along with ABS, EBD,hill-start assist, hill-hold assist, 360-degree camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Jeep Meridian is powered by a 2-litre turbo diesel unit producing 170 PS and 350 Nm. Available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configuration, it can be mated to a 6-speed manual (4X2 only) or a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The Jeep Meridian price starts at Rs 29.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 39.83 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals other full size SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner.
