Maruti Suzuki has launched the new-gen 2024 Swift at Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Swift has received upgrades both inside and outside, making it more premium and attractive than the outgoing model. Even though it gets many new features and a new engine, it does miss out on a couple of things which are available on the Swift which is sold in the UK. Let’s take a look at that these features are:
The UK-spec Suzuki Swift gets ADAS Level 2 features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Weaving Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitor, Enhanced Traffic Sign Recognition and an additional Driver Monitoring System. The new Swift sold in India misses out on this tech to keep costs in check.
In the UK, the Swift is offered with an optional all-wheel-drive variant. It comes handy in slippery road conditions. The Indian-spec model comes in a front-wheel drive option only. But fair enough, considering it doesn’t snow in majority of the areas in India.
The UK-spec Swift comes equipped with heated seats, which is necessary in colder countries like the UK. In India, this feature has been axed, thanks to the hot climate in most parts of the country.
The newly launched India-spec Swift misses out on a 360-degree camera, which the UK model gets. Along with the 360-degree camera, it also misses out on front parking sensors. The Swift 2024 sold here only gets a reverse parking camera with rear sensors.
The Swift sold in the UK also gets a mild-hybrid system, which does not make its way to the Swift launched in India. Along with improving fuel economy, the mild-hybrid system also aids in torque assist. However, both the models produce the same power and torque figures, 82 PS and 112 Nm, respectively.
The 2024 Swift sold in India is available in 6 colour options. It misses out on black and yellow colour options which are available on the model in the UK.
The UK-spec model of the 2024 Maruti Swift features a CVT gearbox which can also be manually controlled with the help of paddle shifters. To keep costs under control, Maruti has offered the Indian model with a 5-speed AMT.
The UK-spec model of the Swift also gets a tyre pressure monitor, which isn’t on offer here. This feature will let you know when there is a dip in tyre pressures or a puncture in any of the tyres.

It rivals the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and provides a hatchback alternative to the Tata Punch and Renault Triber.
