Kawasaki has launched the all-new Z500 in the UK with a price tag of £5,699 (approx. Rs 5.96 lakh). The bike was first unveiled at EICMA 2023.
The Z500 gets an aggressive front-end with sharp lines all over, with design inspiration taken from its bigger sibling, the Kawasaki Z900. The sub-500cc naked gets a split-seat setup with a raised pillion seat. Powering the all-new Z500 is a 451cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 45.4PS at 9,000rpm and 42.6Nm at 6,000rpm. It gets a trellis frame and a wide handlebar with a slightly upright riding position.
The suspension setup consists of a 41mm telescopic fork and a gas-charged monoshock with preload adjustability. Braking duties are taken care of by a 310mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc. Kerb weight stands at 168kg while the seat height is 785mm. Features-wise, the Z500 comes equipped with an LCD instrument console and assist and slipper clutch.
Kawasaki is expected to bring the Z500 to India by the end of 2024 or early 2025 and if it does so, the motorcycle will probably be priced around the Rs 5.8 - 6 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
