The chaos of the Diwali festive season has begun to calm down. Carmakers cashed in big time as customers rushed to grab the best deal and the special edition models, offered especially for the festive season. As a result, the past week didn’t bring any headlines for new launches but we did get a peek at two possible future launches, while India-relevant models broke cover internationally. Let’s take a look at all the top four-wheeler news of the past week:
The Maruti Suzuki eVX electric concept had just marked its attendance at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show in an evolved form. Soon after that, a test mule was spotted testing in India for the first time. The spy shots do reveal a few possible design cues that could make it to the production model. No technical specifications have been revealed and it is expected to go on sale in 2025.
Just like the eVX concept, Maruti had another India-relevant model on display at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. The model in question is none other than the new-gen Swift concept, details of which are arriving thick and fast. South Africa became one of the first markets to get both the 3- and 5-door versions of the Jimny, as Maruti launched the elongated version of the off-roader in the Rainbow Nation. Notably, the South African prices (after conversion) of the Jimny are considerably higher than what it retails for in India and you can check out its variant-wise pricing here. There are no major changes in the South African-spec Jimny, save for new exterior colour options.
