We reckon the Aprilia SR GT may not be headed to India anytime soon because of the pricing

Following their EICMA 2021 debut, Aprilia has now announced the prices of its adventure scooter twins in Europe. The SR GT 125 has been priced at GBP 3700 (nearly Rs 3.7 lakh) and the SR GT 200 at GBP 3900 (Rs 3.92 lakh).

These ‘Urban Adventure’ scooters, as Aprilia calls them, are the newest players in the evolving adventure scooter segment. The Aprilia SR GT 125 utilises a 125cc engine belting out an impressive 15PS and 12Nm, and the SR GT 200’s 175cc mill makes 17.6PS and 16.5Nm. Also, these scooters boast an impressive 9-litre fuel tank.

Now, to the underpinnings. Both scooters share the same double cradle frame suspended on a 33mm telescopic fork offering 120mm travel and dual shocks with 102mm travel. Braking duties are entrusted to a 260mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc. Only the SR GT 125's base variant is equipped with a drum brake.

There's no word on the scooters' India debut at the moment. However, with the launch of the Yamaha Aerox 155 here, the Aprilia 160 twins now have a lot of ground to cover. So, if and when the SR GT 200 or the SR GT comes to India, these scooters will have a unique position in the market but will likely be priced way above the competition.
