We brought the exclusive news of MBP entering India at the Auto Expo 2023, the company has now also teased a new cruiser that’ll debut at the event. The teaser showed the silhouette of a muscular cruiser and it’s pretty evident that it’s the MBP C1002V, a bike that was globally unveiled at EICMA last year.
What’s instantly noticeable is the C1002V’s authentic cruiser design, one that’d give the Harley-Davidson Nightster, errm, nightmares. It could even compel the Ducati Diavel fans to take a longer look. The motorcycle flaunts a laid-back riding triangle, blacked-out and brawny bodywork complete with fat tyres at both ends. Its overall styling is reminiscent of the Harley Davidson Nightrod.
And if you thought that was interesting, wait till you hear what throbs underneath the sexy bodywork. It’s a 997cc liquid-cooled V-twin mill making 95PS and 102Nm and is paired to a six-speed gearbox. You get two 320mm disc brakes at the front and a 300mm one at the rear, with 18-inch wheels wrapped with fat 130- and 240-section tyres at the front and rear respectively. A 680mm seat height sounds inviting and even the ground clearance is a healthy 150mm. Even the 262kg kerb weight is fairly light for a cruiser.
And no, that’s not all! The MBP C1002V comes with a five-inch TFT that facilitates smartphone connectivity, navigation and a lot more. So does this excite us? Absolutely yes! We would love to see this muscular cruiser in India. If priced well, it could be a unique and feature-packed alternative to the Harleys and Indian motorcycles.
