The Bajaj Chetak 2901 variant was launched in June 2024 with a price tag of Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom Bengaluru including EMPS 2024, which stands for Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024), making it the most affordable variant in the Chetak lineup. It is Rs 27,321 and Rs 51,245 cheaper than the Bajaj Chetak Urbane and Premium variants respectively.
In terms of features, the Bajaj Chetak 2901 gets a round LCD instrument console that shows speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, range, battery level indicator, clock, side stand indicator and other regular readouts. It also comes with an Economy riding mode as standard. If you opt for the optional TecPac package by shelling out an extra Rs 3,000, then the scooter comes equipped with an additional Sports riding mode, reverse mode, hill-hold assist, Follow Me Home lights and Bluetooth connectivity for call and music control.
The Chetak 2901 electric scooter gets a 2.88kWh battery pack and an ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) claimed range of 123km. It has a top speed of 63kmph and the battery requires 6 hours to be fully charged from 0-100%. It is available in five colour options: Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue. It has a single-sided link type front suspension and a monoshock. Braking duties are taken care of by drum brakes at both ends.
The arrival of the most affordable 2901 variant has lowered the entry point of owning a Chetak electric scooter. This will definitely help the Chetak put up a better fight against its rivals and maintain its status as one of the best-selling electric scooters in the Indian two-wheeler market.
