Bajaj Auto recently launched the new 35 range of the Chetak electric scooter. It is available in three variants: 3501, 3502 and 3503. Here’s a detailed look at those variants:
The 3501 variant has a TFT instrument console showing speedometer, odometer, battery charge levels, trip meter and other regular readouts. As standard, features like reverse mode, self-cancelling blinkers, auto hazard lights, and the ability to accept and reject calls from the console are available. If you opt for the TecPac, you get features like music control, hill hold, sequential rear blinkers, Guide Me Home lights and display themes. The Annual Data Pack unlocks features like map-driven navigation, remote immobilization, overspeeding alert with a set top speed, notification alert, trip data and trip analytics, document storage, and geo-fencing. It has an Eco riding mode as standard while the Sports mode is available with the TecPac package. The 3501 variant comes with a 950W charger that charges the scooter from 0-80% in 3 hours.
The Bajaj Chetak’s 3502 variant also gets a TFT instrument console but without the touchscreen functionality. This variant doesn’t get sequential rear blinkers and document storage even as optional features while self-cancelling blinkers are available through the TecPac package. Also, this variant has turn-by-turn navigation through the Annual Data Pack. The rest of the features list is the same as that of the 3501 variant. The charger available with the 3502 variant charges the scooter from 0-80% in 3 hours and 25 minutes.
Not much details are available about the 3503 variant other than the fact that it has drum brakes at both ends. The rest of the scooter is the same across all variants. The new Chetak range has a 3.5kWh capacity battery pack with a claimed range of 153km and a claimed top speed of 73kmph. It has a trailing link front suspension and a monoshock. The Chetak 3501’s rivals are the Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro and the TVS iQube ST while the 3502’s variant’s rivals are the Ather 450S, Ola S1 Air and the TVS iQube S.
