(Update: The Bajaj Freedom 125 has been launched at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom). Check out the details here.)

Quick Highlights

  • There’s a new teaser of the Bajaj CNG Bike, two days before its launch

  • The teaser shows a switch to toggle between CNG and petrol

  • It also reveals the cover of the CNG filling nozzle

Bajaj Auto has released a new teaser of the upcoming CNG bike, two days before its launch. The teaser, while still hiding a lot of details, distinctly shows two essential things about the bike which its users would be interacting with.

Toggle switch between petrol and CNG

First is a blue switch to toggle between CNG and petrol. It’s positioned on the left-side switchgear where you’d normally find a toggle switch for low and high beams. The indicator switch is clearly visible under this toggle. Also, there’s a hint of a circular button between the fuel toggle and the indicator switch, which would most likely be a high-low beam switch.

The fuel toggle switch should be able to seamlessly switch between the two fuels which will add to the bike's utility. While most modern CNG systems allow the vehicle to be cranked with CNG fuel, we are not yet sure if Bajaj has implemented such a system in this bike. If not, the bike will have to be started on petrol and then switch over to CNG. However, that's unlikely to be the case here.

Filler cap for CNG

Next up is what seems to be a lid for the CNG filler nozzle. The CNG filler nozzle is most likely to have a separate placement from the petrol filler. CNG filler nozzles are far more complex yet secure refilling mechanisms. Remember how the LPG cylinders and their regulators are? The CNG storage system is a pressurised unit and requires a specialised mechanism to refill. This is why the lid seen will be different from a normal petrol tank lid.

The Bajaj CNG bike will launch on July 5, 2024, after which we shall tell you its exact price, variants, colour options, and most importantly, the engine capacity.
