Pune-based bikemaker Bajaj is well-known for being resource-efficient, happily mixing and matching components from the parts bins of different bikes to come up with new products. This time around, it is the Bajaj Pulsar N150 that's all set to be launched soon. Images of the bike at dealerships have surfaced online, hinting at the possibility of an launch by the end of this month.
The Bajaj Pulsar N150 is based on the Bajaj Pulsar P150, but with bodywork carried over from the Bajaj Pulsar N160, complete with the sharp projector LED headlight, streetfighter-style bodywork, a sleek tail section with a single-piece grab rail and a tyre hugger. Like the Pulsar P150, this one also gets a kick start lever, along with an underbelly exhaust. As mentioned earlier, it uses the same 14.5PS, 13.5Nm 149.68cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine as the Pulsar P150. The underpinnings, including the 31mm telescopic fork, preload-adjustable monoshock, disc up front and drum at the rear (at least in the bike shown in the leaked images) are carried over from the Pulsar P150. There are reports of the bike being available in a rear disc brake-equipped variant as well, but we’ll confirm that after it’s launched.
The bike retains the semi-digital instrument cluster of the N160, complete with real-time and average mileage indicator, distance to empty readout, clock, among other run-of-the-mill information. The P150 will likely get a single-channel ABS irrespective of the variant. Another aspect to note is that the bike gets a single-piece seat setup, and the alloy wheel design has remained unchanged as well. The bike has been spotted in two colours: white, and red. Expect Bajaj to offer more colours as well.

As far as the pricing is concerned, expect it to cost around Rs 2,000 more than the Pulsar P150. For a clearer idea, here’s the current ex-showroom Delhi prices of the Bajaj Pulsar P150, and Bajaj Pulsar N160 variant-wise:
Bajaj Pulsar P150 |
Bajaj Pulsar N160 |
Single disc, single-piece seat: Rs 1.16,755 |
Std (one variant only): Rs 1,30,560 |
Twin disc, split seat: Rs 1,19,757 |

With the Pulsar N150, it looks like Bajaj is aiming to establish itself in the 150cc streetfighter segment, as the 160cc space has become expensive of late. The N150 will also be Bajaj’s answer to the segment’s sole contender, the Yamaha FZ S V3, giving prospective customers the option to go for a sportier version while remaining in the 150cc segment. Bajaj had already revealed earlier that it will be launching multiple Pulsar bikes soon, and with the Pulsar N150 being the first of many, it looks like Bajaj is right on track.
