It might not be too long before we get to see the Bajaj Pulsar NS400 as Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, has confirmed in a recent interview that the manufacturer will be launching the biggest Pulsar in early FY2025. So, the NS400 is most likely to be launched between April and June 2024.
From what we know so far,the Pulsar NS400 will likely be powered by the Bajaj Dominar 400’s 373.3cc, liquid-cooled engine producing 40PS and 35Nm. Underpinnings wise, as the name suggests, it will be based on the Bajaj Pulsar NS200’s perimeter chassis with some changes to fit in the bigger capacity engine.
Design-wise, it should get similar styling as the NS200 but with a beefier and more aggressive stance. The NS200 gets sharp design lines combined with a rounded tank design and we expect the same design philosophy to get carried over to the NS400 as well. Features-wise, it will most likely get the LED lighting and LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity features that the 2024 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and NS200 recently got. As for the price tag. it will likely be priced just under the Bajaj Dominar 400’s Rs 2,29,781 (ex-showroom Delhi) sticker price.

In the same interview, Rajiv Bajaj also discussed Bajaj Auto developing and launching CNG motorcycles. He said that earlier they had hoped to launch a CNG motorcycle within the calendar year 2025. But encouraged by the recent tests during the development process, Bajaj Auto will now be launching the CNG motorcycle within the first quarter of FY2025 (between April and June 2024).
Rajiv Bajaj said that the most popular displacement categories for motorcycles are the 100, 120 and the 150-160cc categories. As such, Bajaj believes that a CNG motorcycle at each of these displacement points should be appealing to consumers and the manufacturer would like to build a portfolio of CNG motorcycles with different capacities.
Mr. Bajaj also said that they will launch one CNG motorcycle first and then build the portfolio from there. We think the first CNG motorcycle from Bajaj will have a 150cc capacity engine, as discussed here. We’ve also previously discussed the difficulty of fitting a CNG cylinder in a bike and Rajiv Bajaj also addressed the same concern in the interview. He said that it is a big challenge to package a CNG cylinder into a motorcycle as unlike a scooter, a motorcycle doesn’t have any obvious storage space. The first CNG motorcycle from Bajaj Auto is expected to get a price of about Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom).
