The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z has been one of the most highly anticipated bikes and was launched a week ago. As expected, it generated tons of curiosity among potential buyers about the mileage, performance and other information about the bike. So, we have answered the 5 most frequently asked questions on Google about the Pulsar NS400Z:
The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z claimed mileage is 28.5kmpl. For reference, the Bajaj Dominar 400 offered 26.5kmpl in the city and 34kmpl on the highway in our real-world tests. Even though both bikes are powered by the same 373.3cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, the Dominar 400 is 19kg heavier than the NS400Z, so expect the real-world city and highway mileage figures to be relatively better. That said, we’ll be able to confirm the exact numbers only after testing, so stay tuned.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z gets a claimed top speed of 154kmph and is the fastest Pulsar bike yet.
It is available in a single variant. That being said, the Pulsar NS400Z could get different variants in the future, as hinted by Rajiv Bajaj in a recent interview. The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z price is Rs 1,85,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is an introductory price and Bajaj Auto hasn’t specified the time period till when the introductory price will be on offer. The bike can be booked for an amount of Rs 5,000 and deliveries of the Pulsar NS400Z will start from the first week of June 2024. It is available in four colour options: Brooklyn Black, Glossy Racing Red, Metallic Pearl White, and Pewter Grey.

The Pulsar NS400Z’ competitors are the KTM Duke 390, Triumph Speed 400, TVS Apache RTR 310 and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. The NS400Z’ rivals get more extensive features lists with the KTM 390 Duke and the TVS Apache RTR 310 being the most feature-rich bikes among them. But all of them cost way more than the Pulsar NS400Z. In fact, the Pulsar NS400Z is the most affordable 400cc bike in India with 40PS of power output.
Some of the special features of the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z include 4 ride modes: Road, Rain, Sport and Off-Road and traction control (can be switched off only in Sport and Off-Road mode). The power outputs and level of ABS intervention vary according to the different ride modes. It gets an LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, music control, call and SMS alerts, and a lap timer.. The console has a dot matrix inset that displays the turn-by-turn navigation arrows. Also, the instrument console shows readouts such as the speedometer, odometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, phone battery, signal level, gear position indicator, ride modes, clock, side stand indicator and traction control readouts.
