The Bharat Mobility Show is all set to kick off tomorrow from February 1. For the uninitiated, it is a global expo and can be considered as a version of the Auto Expo that took place in January 2023. There will be portfolio showcases, a few new launches and technological displays for a sustainable future including road safety and future fuels. It is backed up by the Government of India and will cover the entire mobility ecosystem.
So in this story, we take a look at what you you need to know and what you can expect for the four-wheeler side of things:
The Bharat Mobility Show will host stands of almost all of the carmakers in India, including Maruti, Mahindra, and its ilk. The list will also include luxury car makers like Mercedes-Benz. But unlike Auto Expo, where the carmakers showcase future products and concepts, this show will witness the display of largely their existing portfolios.
Although, there will be exceptions as Mercedes has confirmed that it’ll showcase the AMG GLE 53 facelift and the EQG electric G Wagon concept at its stand. So we reckon other carmakers could also take this opportunity and display new products, but there’s no confirmation on that front.
With 800+ exhibitors, the focus for the show is going to be on the entire mobility ecosystem. From powertrain technologies to charging infrastructure to automation to future fuels; the showcase is going to be more than just the cars on display. There are going to be conferences, forums, workshops, and dialogues of all kinds as well.
Fun fact: Day 2 will also witness Indian prime minister Narendra Modi address the show.
The show will take place from February 1 to 3, 2024 from 10 am to 6 pm at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. You can register as a visitor on the Bharat Mobility Website itself.
This Bharat Mobility Show will be so much more than just a showcase of a carmaker’s portfolio. It will help cement India as one of the leading centres for automotive global capability. India already is one of the largest markets for vehicle manufacturers and this show will also help shine a light on sustainable practices and help reduce environmental effects from the growing mobility sector in the future.
