- BMW claims that the ADV weighs very close to 175kg

It looks like BMW Motorrad is entering the competitive sub-450cc ADV segment as the Concept F 450 GS has been unveiled at EICMA 2024. It is a near production ready bike and looks like a scaled-down version of the recently launched R 1300 GS.

Continuing with the looks, the ADV gets a sharp, high-rise beak-like front fender and the headlight design is the same as its 1,300cc sibling. The chiselled radiator shrouds are well-integrated with the fuel tank and the tail section looks quite sleek. The Concept F 450 GS is powered by an all-new inline twin-cylinder engine that produces 48PS, which is quite powerful for a sub-450cc ADV. And on top of that, BMW Motorrad says that the bike’s weight is close to 175kg. Hitting the trails should be mad fun with this one then.

A fully adjustable inverted fork and a preload adjustable monoshock form the bike’s suspension setup while the braking setup consists of a disc brake at both ends. It comes loaded with features as the ADV has a 6.5-inch TFT instrument console with connectivity. Cornering ABS is also part of the bike’s features list. The tyres are fitted on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cross-spoke wheels.

The Bavarian manufacturer has stated that it is working on launching a production version of the concept bike sometime in 2025. If that’s the case, then we can expect the ADV to be launched here sometime in 2026. With that, the other sub-450cc ADVs will have serious competition on their hands as the because everything about the F 450 GS right now looks pretty damn solid. Also, the inline twin-cylinder engines in BMW’s F series bikes are made by Loncin (based out of China). So, the possibility of a TVS version of this ADV in the future is unlikely.
