BMW Motorrad has launched the F 900 GS and the F 900 GS Adventure in India at Rs 13,75,000 and Rs 14,75,000 (both ex-showroom) respectively. These models replace the F 850 GS and the F 850 GS Adventure, respectively, in the BMW Motorrad’s lineup. The bikes will be available in India as CBUs (Completely Built Units) and deliveries will start from October 2024. The F 900 GS is available in two colour options: São Paulo Yellow and Lightwhite / Racing Blue metallic while the GS Adventure gets Black Storm metallic and White Aluminium matt colour options.

The F 900 GS can do off-roading and touring, just like any standard ADV, however the GS Adventure is more hardcore, and can take on cross-country rides.

The GS gets a short beak-like fender with a slimmer looking fuel tank and a narrower tail section compared to the 850, however the 900 GS Adventure has a more protruding fender.  Both bikes are powered by an all-new 895cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine producing 105PS at 8500rpm and 93Nm at 6750rpm. The riding position has been altered with higher handlebar, lowered footrests and a higher positioned footbrake lever.

The suspension setup consists of a fully adjustable inverted fork and a monoshock while braking duties are taken care of by dual 305mm discs at the front, and a 265mm disc at the rear. Both bikes get a 90-section tyre with a 21-inch wheel at the front and a 150-section tyre with a 17-inch wheel at the rear. The features list include a 6.5-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity and navigation, two riding modes: Rain and Road, cornering ABS, switchable traction control, Akrapovic exhaust, all-LED lighting, 12V socket, USB charging port and heated grips.

An additional Enduro Pro package is available for the F 900 GS which makes the handlebar higher by 24mm and includes a 45mm fully-adjustable inverted fork from Showa and a Sachs monoshock. A Dynamics package is available as accessories on both bikes which includes three additional ride modes called Dynamic, Enduro, and Enduro Pro along with keyless ride technology and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Both bikes rival the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900 GT and Rally Pro, Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, Ducati DesertX, and the Ducati Multistrada V2.
