Explained: Why BMW Motorrad Made The G 310 RR

After much anticipation and a lot of teasers, the wait for the BMW G 310 RR is almost over. The entry-level supersport by the Bavarian bikemaker is all set to launch tomorrow - 15th July 2020.
The teasers have revealed a lot of information on the upcoming bike, though a lot of details are yet to be confirmed. By now, it is quite apparent that the latest Beemer is a rebadged TVS Apache RR 310. That said, BMW is bound to bring its own flavour to the supersport’s platform. The supersport will be powered by the same 312.7cc reverse-inclined liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which makes 34PS and 27.3Nm as the Apache RR 310.
Based on the most recent teasers, the G 310 RR is likely to launch in two variants: with and without the adjustable suspension setup. The teaser also revealed more details on the bike’s features including the instrument cluster. Head here for a detailed analysis.
The BMW G 310 RR is expected to be priced around Rs 2.85 lakh, commanding a premium of around Rs 20,000 over the standard TVS Apache RR 310. That said, it will still be more affordable than its rivals, the KTM RC 390 and Ninja 300.
