Honda has launched the 2025 CBR650R and CB650R in India at Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 9.20 lakh respectively. This comes right after Honda officially teased the launch of both the bikes 2025 through its social media handles.

Design

Both the new bikes bring a few new upgrades over the previous version, though the overall design remains similar. Notable updates include a refreshed headlamp on both, new tank extensions on the CB and a new fairing design on the CBR, with a sharper tail section on both. The CB650R is available in 2 colours: Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. The CBR650R also gets 2 colours: Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic.

Engine

Powering both the motorcycles is a 649cc, in-line four-cylinder engine that produces 95PS at 12,000rpm and 63Nm at 9,500rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. Notably, the E-clutch variants don’t make it to India.

Both the bikes get LED lighting all around, a new 5-inch colour TFT display with more details on the screen, Honda RoadSync App compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts.  

Underpinnings

Both the bikes come with an inverted telescopic Showa 41mm Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) and a pre-load adjustable monoshock. Braking is handled by twin radially mounted 310mm front discs and a 240mm single rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Rivals

The CB650R rivals bikes like the Triumph Trident 660 and the Kawasaki Z900. While the CBR650R competes against other middle-weight faired sportbikes like the Triumph Daytona 660 and Suzuki GSX-8R.
