With the Gen 3 platform, all scooters in the Ola lineup now get a structurally integrated battery pack. Along with this, the scooters now get a mid-mounted motor with a chain drive transmission. Ola claims that they have used pre-lubricated O-rings in the chain for better reliability and noise reduction.
Another interesting feature that the brand has brought to all of its scooters is the brake by wire system. This system helps in improving braking efficiency and reducing the amount of stress that brake pads undergo during regular braking, according to the brand. Now the scooter also gets single-channel ABS at the front and dual-channel ABS in some variants.
In terms of performance, the scooters have undergone a massive update. Here’s a brief overview of the scooter’s range and performance.

Other than this, the brand has also simplified the electronics package, reducing the number of processing chips that the scooter uses. On the Gen 2 platform, the scooter had 3 boards integrated into the scooter’s head unit but now that has been integrated to 1 single board. The brand claims that this will improve the scooter’s performance and reliability along with reducing costs.
When it comes to features, the Ola S1 Pro+ and the Ola S1 Pro offer 4 riding modes: Hyper, Sports, Normal and Eco. Along with this Ola has bought some much needed safety features on the bike as well, it includes dual-channel ABS and also Ola’s new brake-by-wire system. The Ola S1 X and the Ola S1 X+ are a bit more simple in terms of features. Both scooters get the same 4 riding modes as the Ola S1 Pro+ and Ola S1 Pro, but miss out on dual-channel ABS, as both only feature a disc brake at the front.
The deliveries for the scooter will begin from mid February 2025. The Move OS5 beta version will also roll out around the same time. Overall, the Ola Gen 3 platform has given the Ola Electric lineup a massive upgrade in terms of performance while also keeping prices low.
