The manufacturer has priced the 650cc bobber really well to make it distinguishable from the Super Meteor 650

The prices for the recently unveiled bobber from Royal Enfield, called the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, are finally out. And let’s just say the manufacturer has done a good job with it.

What’s New?

Well, the bobber is based on the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 but it still has elements that make it different from the cruiser. Highlights:

- Same 648cc, air-oil cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 47PS and 52.3Nm

- 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch

- 13.8-litre fuel tank, 1.9-litre smaller than the Super Meteor 650

- 43mm big piston Showa fork with 120mm wheel travel and twin rear shock absorbers with 90mm suspension travel

- 320mm front disc brake and a 300mm rear disc brake setup with dual-channel ABS

- 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel with 100-section front and 150-section rear (radial) tubeless Ceat Zoom Cruz tyres

- Alloy wheel design different from the Super Meteor 650

- Kerb weight: 240kg (1kg lighter than the Super Meteor 650)

- Seat height: 795mm (55mm taller than the Super Meteor 650)

- Ground clearance: 140mm (5mm more than the Super Meteor 650)

The bobber gets a flat handlebar with bar-end mirrors, mid-set footpegs, slightly upswept and blacked-out twin pea-shooter exhausts, single-seat and a chopped rear fender. These changes make the Shotgun 650 stand out from the Super Meteor 650 it is based on.

Zig Says

Royal Enfield has managed to give the Shotgun 650 a very competitive starting price tag and this makes it not only more affordable than the Super Meteor 650, but also a sportier alternative. Moreover, Royal Enfield has got the factory custom look pretty bang on, making the Shotgun 650 a great motorcycle in the middle-weight bobber segment. In fact, it is the only choice if you’re looking for a bobber in this space.
