Just yesterday we told you the iconic British brand BSA is making a comeback. And now, the company has even announced a date -- December 4. Staying true to its roots, Birmingham Small Arms or BSA will officially make a comeback at the Motorcycle Live show in its home turf, Birmingham, UK. Classic Legends, Mahindra’s subsidiary incharge for the BSA project, had stated that the brand would be more focused towards the international market and hence, we aren’t surprised that BSA’s revival will take place in Britain.
BSA started off as an arms and tools manufacturing company, and eventually tied up with fellow British bike maker Triumph for a brief period to become the largest motorcycle producer in the world. However, due to poor management, the company’s sales tumbled massively, ultimately leading to a shutdown.
Cut to 2016, the Mahindra group bought a huge stake in BSA, followed by an announcement it will resurrect the company.
So what’s next? Well, according to BSA’s social media, the company could be unveiling its first ‘new’ motorcycle on December 4. The announcement shows the silhouette of a retro motorcycle with a round headlight and a low, flat handlebar coupled with bar-end mirrors. We believe this is an electric retro bike.
Whatever the case, the new BSA bike will be produced in the UK itself, under Classic Legends, Mahindra’s subsidiary brand.
All in all, BSA’s resurrection has us quite pumped. And we can’t wait to see what will be unveiled in a week's time. Perhaps a potential Royal Enfield rival?
