At the Auto Expo 2023, Tata Motors took the wraps off the Harrier EV amidst much fanfare and the electric SUV looks a tad different from the ICE model sold in the market currently. That’s because the all-electric SUV gives a preview of what to expect from the facelifted ICE model expected to be launched later this year.
Most of the changes on the electric SUV are focused at the front and rear. In the EV, the ‘face’ features a blanked grille with an LED strip extending its entire width. The bumper has been reprofiled and the LED headlamps are now triangular and placed in sporty housings.
In profile, the EV rolls on redesigned alloys, while the rear-end gets connected tail lamps with sharper insignias and a restyled bumper.
The ICE version is expected to get minor styling tweaks to distinguish it from its EV sibling. So, you can expect design touches like an absolute grille, redesigned bumpers and probably, bespoke alloys as well. It should also get more colour options than the EV, including the existing Dark Edition as well.
On the inside, things are expected to be largely similar with regard to both the ICE and electric Harriers. The EV model and the display models of the current version at the Auto Expo 2023 featured a new seven-inch digital driver’s display and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a new user interface.
Plus, the SUV also has ambient lighting flanking the sunroof to up the ambience. That said, the main feature addition will be the presence of ADAS. All of these will be present in the facelifted model, while the remaining features will be similar to the existing model on sale, which you can read about in our first drive review.

No changes are expected underneath the hood of the facelifted Harrier. So you can expect it to continue with the 170PS 2-litre diesel engine, teamed with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
The facelifted Harrier is expected to command a premium over the current model that is priced from Rs 14.8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the MG Hector, Jeep Compass, and Mahindra XUV700 five-seater.
