Check Out How The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Base Model Looks Like In Japan

The next-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift has been fully revealed in Japan and is expected to be launched here in 2024. The model has been spotted testing on our roads ahead of its official introduction. And in this report, we’ll be looking at how the Swift looks in its entry-level guise in Japan.

For starters, the entry-level Swift has been equipped with LED headlamps right from the base model, though it misses out on fog lamps. Keen-eyed viewers will also notice the lack of a chrome surround in the grille and the skid plate that’s finished in black as opposed to grey. You’d also have to rely on fender-mounted turn indicators and steel wheels with plastic covers as opposed to the alloys on higher-end models.

The interior of the base 2024 Swift is yet to be revealed. However, this being the entry level trim means lower features, probably limited to manual AC, a smaller touchscreen, power windows, a plain multi-info display and a traditional handbrake compared to the electronic parking brake. But thankfully, bits like front parking sensors are available from here onward. 

There will be big changes underneath the hood as the Swift will get the new 1.2-litre Z12E petrol engine, teamed with a CVT. Power figures are expected to be the same as the current four-cylinder engine it will replace. In India, you can expect it to be offered with manual and automatic transmissions.
