The launch of the Kylaq marks Skoda's entry into the crowded subcompact SUV segment. While it shares some design elements with its larger sibling, the Kushaq, it notably keeps its length under 4 metres to fit the subcompact category. Previously, Skoda had not revealed its complete dimensions, but we now have all the details, allowing us to compare how it sizes up against its rivals. Here’s how it measures up.
For this comparison, we have also included Maruti’s sub-4m crossover, the Fronx, and its rebadged Toyota counterpart, the Urban Cruiser Taisor as well.

Starting with the Kylaq’s width, it is broader than the Venue and the Fronx/Taisor but narrower than its other mentioned rivals. In terms of height, the Maruti Brezza is the tallest in this category at 1,685 mm, while the Fronx/Taisor are the shortest at 1,550 mm, mainly due to their crossover styling. The Kylaq stands taller than the Fronx/Taisor duo, the Venue and even the Kia Sonet.
While the Kylaq’s length is identical to most of the cars in this list, it boasts the second largest wheelbase figure, behind only the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
The Skoda Kylaq will be offered with a single 1-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 115 PS and 178 Nm. You will have the option of pairing it with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-convertor automatic gearbox.
