The past week saw the launch of Jeep’s off-road capable SUV, the crash test results of a sedan and two SUVs, full interior teaser of an upcoming compact SUV, and the launch of new variants of VW’s compact SUV. Here’s a look at the major car news and updates from the last week.
The GNCAP has released crash test results of the Honda Amaze, Kia Carens and Mahindra Bolero Neo. The Honda Amaze scored just 2 stars for Adult Occupant Protection and zero stars for Child Occupant Protection, the Carens achieved three stars for Adult Occupant protection and an impressive five stars for Child Occupant Protection, while the Mahindra Bolero Neo scored just 1 star in Adult Occupant Protection and 1 star in the Child Occupant Protection.
Mahindra has revealed yet another teaser of the XUV 3XO, this time showcasing the full interior of the upcoming SUV. The latest teaser showcases its infotainment unit and digital driver’s display. It also hinted at the automatic transmission unit that will be offered with it. Notably, unofficial bookings for the XUV 3XO are underway.

Volkswagen has introduced new Sport trim for the Taigun. The latest trim gets two new variants GT Line and GT Plus Sport. The new variants get cosmetic changes with red ‘GT’ badging and an all-black cabin theme for the interior. Head over to our earlier report to check out prices of new variants.
Toyota India has introduced a new Leader Edition for the Fortuner. It gets a dual-tone exterior shade and a couple of cosmetic enhancements over the standard model. Jeep has launched the 2024 Wrangler facelift at Rs 67.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The off-roader gets a slightly tweaked design for the exterior, a new dashboard layout, and a couple of new features including a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and ADAS. Aston Martin has launched the new-gen 2024 Vantage in India at Rs 3.99 crore (ex-showroom). It features a new V8 engine which produces 655 PS and 800 Nm. Hyundai and Kia are expected to introduce an EV version of the Creta and Seltos respectively. Production of both the siblings will likely start by the end of 2024, and they are expected to be launched in early 2025 .
