Japanese company Trick Star’s latest muse is the Kawasaki ZX-25R, and it has pushed the envelope of what can be achieved from a quarter-litre motorcycle. Trick Star’s tricked out ZX-25R pushes out 70PS and has achieved a top speed of 217kmph! Here’s how they pulled it off:
Turbo FTW!
Trick Star decided to plonk in a turbo to the Kawasaki ZX-25R. With no turbo kit available for this inline-four screamer, the workshop had to go through trial and error to make the system. With a reworked intake-exhaust system, the bike’s peak performance rose from 45PS to 58.79PS, and it achieved a speed of 197kmph. But that just didn’t cut it.

More power, baby!
Trick Star made several updates to the machine, including adding a thicker head gasket to reduce the compression ratio and a custom exhaust. Furthermore, the sprocket ratio changed from the stock 14/50 to 15/43, with a lightweight D.I.D chain.
The result? This Trick Star-spec Kawasaki ZX-25R belts out 69.13PS; 33PS more than the stock bike, and 1.13PS more than the Kawasaki Ninja 650. Unfortunately, this is a one-off project and won’t go on sale. The Kawasaki ZX-25R has eluded the Indian market for obvious reasons, and knowing that it can push more power than a 650 makes it even more tempting.
