The Mahindra XUV 3XO has been recently launched in India at a starting price of Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in nine main trim levels: MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro AX5, AX5 L, AX7, and AX7 L. The MX2 Pro, being the second-above-base model, gets an automatic transmission added for the petrol variant and marks the entry of a single-pane sunroof. Meanwhile, it does not compromise on the safety equipment. Here’s an overview of everything it gets over the one-above-base MX2 variant.
The second-above-base MX2 Pro variant misses out LED headlights and fog lamps and rather gets a basic halogen projector headlight setup. LED DRLs and turn indicators on the ORVMs come as standard from the base MX1 variant itself. The gloss black grille and bumpers remain identical across the lineup.
From the side, notice the blacked-out A- and C-pillars with body-colour door handles. There are no roof rails on offer, though the black 16-inch steel wheels do get silver painted five-spoke wheel covers.
At the back, the MX2 Pro variant misses out on rear defogger and wiper with washer. Also note that the central boot element of the connected LED tail lights do not light up. The MX2 Pro variant even misses out on a roof-mounted spoiler but does get the antenna as it gets the 10.25-inch infotainment screen carried from the MX2 variant.

The XUV 3XO’s dual-tone interior treatment is similar across all variants but the MX2 Pro trim misses out on an automatic climate control unit and is equipped with a manually operated AC unit.
The MX2 Pro variant retains the 10.25-inch infotainment screen (without HD screen), four speakers and steering-mounted audio controls from the MX2 Pro variant. Similarly it also misses out on Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, which is reserved for higher trim levels.
The MX2 Pro variant marks the entry level model for the sunroof option, and gets a single-pane sunroof. Panoramic sunroof option is limited to the top-spec variants.
Safety, on the other hand, hasn’t been compromised and is well equipped with safety tech such as ABS, standard six airbags, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, and rear parking sensors.
The MX2 Pro variant gets fabric seats instead of leather upholstery. Middle-passenger headrest and rear central armrest are a miss but you get rear AC vents for improved comfort, remote keyless entry and follow-me-home headlights.

The second-above-base MX2 Pro variant is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. It gets a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine (110 PS) mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission options. It also gets the 1.5-litre turbo diesel unit (117 PS and 300 Nm) mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. If you want either the diesel automatic or the powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol TGDI engine, you’ll have to consider higher variants.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro’s petrol manual variant is priced at Rs 8.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), petrol automatic is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and the diesel manual variant is priced at Rs 10.39 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with other sub-4 metre SUVs such as the Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Nissan Magnite, along with the upcoming Skoda sub-4m SUV.
