Ducati had showcased a graffiti-styled Hypermotard concept at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este last year. It has now unveiled the production model called the Hypermotard 950 RVE. The new Hypermotard variant will sit between the base and top-spec SP versions. It will go on sale in Europe next month for 13,500 Euros (Rs 11.58 lakh). The Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE is based on the standard Hypermotard but gets a graffiti-style paint job, two-tone seat and wheels, and a bidirectional quickshifter.

Graffiti Paint Job
Ducati says it uses a long and complex paint process and highly skilled labour to achieve a paint finish similar to the concept bike. With the help of extremely thin decals, Ducati was able to achieve a finish equivalent to an airbrushed paint job.
Fun Fact: Ducati Hypermotard 950 Goes Back To Its Roots
The first-generation Ducati Hypermotard got radical-looking twin underseat exhaust pipes. These were ditched in favour of a compact single side-slung exhaust unit in the following two generations. With the Hypermotard 950, Ducati has brought the original twin underseat exhaust layout back.
Standard Hypermotard Underneath
Below that eye-catching paint job is a standard Hypermotard 950. The RVE gets the same 937cc Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder motor that develops 114PS and 96Nm. Underpinnings are the same 45mm fully adjustable Marzocchi upside-down forks and semi-adjustable Sachs monoshock, Pirelli Diablo Rosso III radials, and radially mounted Brembo monoblocs. It even weighs the same 178kg (dry).

Additional Equipment
Other than the cosmetic updates, the Hypermotard 950 RVE gets a bidirectional quickshifter (DQS EVO) as standard. It is similar to the one we’ve tested and loved on the Ducati SuperSport S. Other electronic rider aids include riding modes, ABS Bosch Cornering, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO, and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO.
Will It Come To India?
The base Hypermotard 950 was sold in India for Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). While the BS4 motorcycle would be discontinued, Ducati might launch either the BS6 version of the base Hypermotard 950 or Hypermotard 950 RVE here. Overseas, the difference between the two is 750 Euros (Rs 64,471) so they could consider bringing the flashier RVE here.
