The wait for the Ducati Multistrada 950 S to ride into the country will be drawing to a close on November 2. The Italian marque has started accepting bookings for the bike for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. This being the S model, it will bear a slightly premium price, around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Multistrada 950 has been the gateway into the Multistrada family for a few years. The smaller of the two Ducati ADVs has more or less remained the same since its inception in 2016 when it was first showcased at EICMA. For MY2019, Ducati unleashed a more technologically advanced version with the Multistrada 950 S. After waiting for nearly two years, this variant is finally coming to our shores.
The S variant gets the advanced Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO, a Ducati Quick Shift up and down (DQS), LED lighting with cornering lights, a 5-inch colour TFT dash enabled with Ducati’s multimedia system, and a few other such goodies. The former two bits are going to make a big difference to the riding experience, making sport riding an effortless affair even on our tricky road conditions.
There’s no change to the 937cc L-twin Testastretta 11° mill even after meeting EU5 norms. It continues to push out 113PS and 96Nm. The S model also gets a six-axis IMU from Bosch, giving the bike lean-sensitive traction control and cornering ABS. Lastly, a hydraulically actuated clutch helps in reducing clutch effort.
Ducati had released a special colour edition of the Multistrada 950 S called the ‘GP White’ a while back. While this colour will make its way to India, it could possibly be given a miss in the initial period.
