Toyota India has announced it will launch the updated Glanza on March 15. Unofficial bookings are underway at select dealerships, and we now have exclusive information that the Glanza will be offered in seven variants and five body shades.
The 2022 Glanza will be offered in four trims: E, G, S, and the top-spec V, with the E and S being new additions. We suspect these trims to be equivalent to the Baleno’s Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha trims. Save for the base-spec E, all trims will be offered with an automatic transmission, just like the Baleno, taking the variant count to seven.
Five body colours will be on offer: Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Gaming Grey, Sporting Red, and Insta Blue. It should be similar to what Maruti offers with the Baleno, and you can have a look at them here. The Luxe Beige shade will be exclusive to the Baleno.
On to the features. The Glanza will get all the new additions from the Baleno, including a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, an Arkamys tuned sound system connected car tech with Alexa support (telematics only), a 360-degree camera, six airbags, and electronic stability control.
We also expect the variant-wise feature distribution to be the same between the two cars. You can check out the Baleno’s variant-wise features here.
Like the Baleno, the Glanza will get only the 90PS 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual and an optional CVT. There won’t be any mild-hybrid tech or the refined CVT this time around. That said, idle start/stop technology will be present for aiding fuel economy.

This time around, the Glanza will get more differentiating design elements to stand out from the Baleno. Considering that there is a new base-spec trim on offer, we suspect the starting price is expected to go down from Rs 7.7 lakh (current model) to Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
