Bajaj Pulsar N160 First Ride Review

The single-channel ABS variant of the Bajaj Pulsar N160 has been discontinued, according to our dealer sources.

The Pulsar N160 was launched last year in two variants: single-channel ABS and dual-channel ABS, at price tags of Rs 1,22,854 and Rs 1,27,853 (ex-showroom) respectively. The difference between the two variants is about Rs 5,000, which is not a big amount considering the superior safety provided by the dual-channel ABS. For this reason, according to our dealer sources, a huge majority of customers started opting for the dual-channel ABS variant and due to dwindling demand, the single-channel ABS variant has been discontinued a few months ago. So, currently the N160 is only available with dual-channel ABS and costs Rs 1,30,560 (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s available in 3 colours (Brooklyn Black, Racing Red and Caribbean Blue), and all three of them are available at the same price.

The Bajaj Pulsar is powered by a 164.82cc, single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine producing 16PS and 14.65Nm. It is built on the same platform as that of the Bajaj Pulsar N250 and as such, gets nearly identical features, bodywork and colour options. It rivals the likes of the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, Yamaha FZ-S Fi V3.0, Suzuki Gixxer, and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
