It’s yet another exclusive Maruti Suzuki Baleno leak, and this time around, we have managed to get our hands on the hatchback’s exterior colour options. The premium hatch’s colour palette consists of six colours: Nexa Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Opulent Red, Luxe Beige, Grandeur Grey, and Splendid Silver. The last four are new to the premium hatchback.

The above snippet also gives us a look at its slightly redesigned 10-spoke alloy wheels. Based on previous teasers, we can also confirm that the grille has grown a size larger, and is flanked by a pair of sleeker, angular LED headlights. At the rear, the hatch now gets new split-LED tail lamps, with redesigned bumpers rounding off the design.

It’s on the inside where most of the work has been done. The hatch gets a redesigned dashboard and the stand-out element is the larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other new additions include a 360-degree camera, Arkamys-tuned sound system, and a wireless phone charger.

Maruti has also bolstered the Baleno’s safety with new additions like six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, and rear parking sensors.

The Baleno will get only the 90PS 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine without the mild-hybrid system. As standard, the hatch will get a 5-speed manual, while the ultra-smooth CVT will be replaced by the more cost-effective, but slower-shifting 5-speed AMT. We have exclusively covered a detailed report about the Baleno’s fuel efficiency figures and you can read it here

The Baleno will go on sale in the coming days and prices are expected to start from Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The hatch will be offered in six trims: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta (O), Alpha, and Alpha (O).  It will renew its rivalry with the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, and the upcoming facelifted Toyota Glanza.
