Toyota has pulled the Innova Crysta from its website.
2.7-litre petrol engine to be discontinued, only the 2.4-litre diesel will be available.
The MPV will be brought back in its lower G, G+ and GX trims.
Top-spec VX and ZX trims to be axed to create breathing space for the Hycross.
Range-topping variants featured cruise control, eight-inch touchscreen and auto climate control.
Will be sold alongside the new Innova Hycross.
To be offered for both private and fleet owners.
The Toyota Innova Crysta has been taken down from the carmaker’s official website. This is not the Crysta’s eradication from Toyota’s portfolio and instead is a temporary discontinuation, as we already know that the diesel Crysta will be brought back to life soon. Plus, it looks the higher-spec trims will be discontinued to leave breathing space for the Innova Hycross, which will be sold alongside it.
According to our sources, when it arrives again, the Crysta will be available in lower grades only, likely to be the G, G+ and GX trims, for both private and fleet buyers. These lower trims will likely be relaunched with new monikers, while the top-spec VX and ZX grades will be the ones to face the axe. Plus, in the future, the Crysta will continue as a diesel-only model and the petrol variants will be axed.
Before its delisting, the MPV was offered with two powertrain options. The 2.7-litre petrol engine, which will be axed, had an output of 166PS and 245Nm, while the 2.4-litre diesel engine produced 150PS and 360Nm. Transmission duties were handled by either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic based on customer choice. Although going forward, an automatic unit is an unlikely option.
In its top-spec iteration, the MPV came packing an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, auto climate control and keyless entry with push-button start. Its safety kit included up to seven airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill-start assist and front and rear parking sensors.

The Innova Crysta’s pricing could see a revision over its outgoing prices that range between Rs 18.09 lakh and Rs 23.83 lakh (ex-showroom). It’ll be sold alongside the new Innova Hycross as an affordable alternative in Toyota’s portfolio and will rival the likes of the Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo.
