In November, Honda revealed the exterior and interior design sketches of the third generation 2024 Amaze, creating excitement with the new design language. While the design sketches showed the new Amaze takes inspiration from the City and Elevate, the production version looks more Let us take a closer look at how the production version of the Amaze looks compared to the initial sketches.
2024 Honda Amaze Design: Exterior Sketches Vs Production Version
At first glance, the Amaze sketches portrayed a sporty and aggressive exterior, featuring a low-slung stance, a hexagonal large grille (inspired from the Elevate), bulging wheel arches, snazzy-looking alloy wheels, arrow straight sharp shoulder lines, and several creases throughout the body.
The good news is most of these design touches have been carried, albeit with a more boxy and upright stance. It retains the strong shoulder lines and multi-spoke alloy wheels, the latter obviously a tad smaller. The sleek headlights with integrated DRLs and rear wing-shaped lights shown in the sketches appear bulkier on the actual car. Additionally, the chrome trim running across the width of the bonnet is noticeably thicker than the one in the sketches. On the positive note, the front and rear bumpers are similar to the ones in the sketches.
It is worth mentioning that the side profile of the production Amaze, which was not shown in the sketches, closely resembles the model it replaces.
2024 Honda Amaze Interior: Design Sketches Vs Production Version
The interior in the design sketches depicted upmarket and modern, featuring a minimalist layout that’s heavily inspired by the Elevate. In reality, the production version Amaze largely adheres to the initial design. The production-spec Amaze features a unique dashboard trim and a dual-tone colour theme. The air-con vent design, floating infotainment touchscreen, and centre console with a traditional gear stick all appear identical to the design sketches.
Not to mention, the steering wheel, wireless phone charger, USB Type-C setup, and semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch display have been borrowed from the City. To know more about the features and specifications of the 2024 Honda Amaze, you can check out our in-depth launch story.
The design of the 2024 Honda Amaze’s is mostly carried over as shown in the concept or design sketches for that matter. Yes, few of the design elements have been toned down in the production-spec model, but it is still a prime example of a car that retains almost all of its design elements.
The new Honda Amaze is priced from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10.9 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in contention with the Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura and the recently launched new Maruti Dzire.
