3D Renders Give A Glimpse Of The Hyundai Venue’s Midlife Refresh Ahead Of Its Launch

• Styling changes include a new front grille, revised bumpers, new alloys, and connected tail lamps.

• Cabins should get revised upholstery as well as new kit such as a larger touchscreen, a digitised driver’s display and ventilated front seats.

• Should retain its current petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel engine and gearbox options.

• Could also get the Kia Sonet’s 1.5-litre diesel motor paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox

Hyundai has been working on giving the Venue sub-4 metre SUV a midlife refresh for some time now, with test mules being spotted multiple times but under heavy disguise. Now, we’ve got a much more detailed look at the updated Venue thanks to leaked 3D renders ahead of its launch. And it looks like the Venue’s set for a fairly significant makeover which is likely to go on sale in India on June 16.

So what’s new from these 3D renders? For starters, the Venue has taken some cues from the Tucson with a new squarer front grille featuring the Parametric Jewel design theme. That being said, we’ve still got a split-headlight setup with the upper unit being a fair bit sleeker and larger than before and a simplistic, upright front bumper. 

The side profile remains largely unchanged aside from the new 16-inch wheels. What’s instantly noticeable at the radical rear is a connected tail lamp setup with lighting elements similar to the Ioniq 5 EV. A revised rear bumper rounds off a fairly extensive refresh on the outside.

While we’re yet to have a look inside, we expect the dashboard to be tweaked to accommodate the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system to replace the 8-inch unit on the current model. Other than revisions to the centre console and upholstery, the updated Venue could also get the i20’s digitised instrument cluster, a Bose sound system, and ventilated front seats. Bits like a wireless phone charger, six airbags, a sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control,and ESC should be retained.

Under the hood, the 2022 Venue will likely soldier on with its current engine and transmission lineup. This includes the 83PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol, and 100PS 1.5-litre diesel engines. It’ll get manual, automatic, and clutchless manual transmission options depending on the engine, but we could get the Sonet’s 115PS 1.5-litre diesel unit, paired with a 6-speed automatic.

Select dealerships have begun accepting unofficial bookings for the facelifted Hyundai Venue. The updated SUV will be priced at a premium over the current model which is priced from Rs 7.11 lakh to Rs 11.83 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will rekindle its rivalry against the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV300.
