The facelifted Tata Safari will borrow design elements from the Harrier EV concept that debuted at Auto Expo 2023

  • Facelifted 2024 Tata Safari spotted testing.

  • It will get connected LED tail lamps and dynamic turn indicators.

  • Other design changes include a heavily revised fascia with vertically stacked LED headlamps.

  • 1.5-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine to debut with this facelift.

  • Launch expected sometime next year.

The facelifted Tata Safari has yet once again fallen victim to the automotive paparazzi, this time giving us a look at its new connected LED tail lamps and LED headlights. The Tata Safari will have similar styling that the Harrier EV concept previewed at the Auto Expo 2023.

As we mentioned above, the 2024 Tata Safari gets new connected LED tail lamps that look wicked at night, as seen in these images. Adding more flash to the show are the Audi-like dynamic turn indicators. And up front, this particular test mule was seen with vertically stacked LED headlights as well.

Apart from its snazzy lighting, the 2024 Safari’s fascia will be revised with a new grille and bumper. It could also get larger 19-inch alloys and a tinkered rear bumper as well. That said, while its exterior is heavily refreshed, the interior will get only minor changes such as a revised Land Rover-like gear lever in the automatic variants.

It should get most of the features found in the current model such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch fully digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front and middle (only 6-seater) row seats. Safety should be taken care of by six airbags, electronic stability control and a full suite of ADAS features.

The Tata Safari should continue with its 170PS 2-litre diesel engine that is teamed with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. But the bigger talking point will be the availability of Tata’s new 1.5-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine that debuted at Auto Expo 2023. The carmaker also hinted this engine could be paired with a DCT, so fingers crossed.

We suspect the facelifted Tata Safari to go on sale sometime in 2024 and it could command a premium over the current model that’s priced from Rs 15.65 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar
