Hyundai Aura has a revised front-end design with a new bumper-grille assembly.
New features include up to six airbags, ESC, hill start assist and TPMS.
Powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with AMT and manual-CNG options.
Likely to be priced from around Rs 6.5 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).
The facelifted Hyundai Aura has been unveiled silently and the carmaker has opened its order books ahead of the subcompact sedan’s imminent launch in the coming weeks. It gets revised front-end styling, mildly revised interiors and several new features, including six airbags that were previously missing in the Aura.
Changes to the Aura’s exterior design are mostly focused on the front end, where the sedan gets a mustache-esque two-part front grille design and the Hyundai logo is now integrated in it. The gaping front grille and fang-like LED DRLs help the Aura stand out next to its facelifted hatchback sibling. Otherwise, the Aura’s overall aesthetics, rear-end styling and alloy wheel design are unchanged.
Inside, the Aura gets several important changes that aren’t so apparent at first glance. For starters, the lower half is finished in beige, giving the cabin an upmarket look. It has a redesigned instrument cluster with analogue dials and a multi-info display. It also has a slew of safety updates such as up to six airbags (four airbags standard), stability control (ESC), hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
The Aura shares these changes with the upcoming facelifted Grand i10 Nios, and we’ve covered the features list in more detail in the following story:
Hyundai’s entry-level sedan now offers a single 83PS petrol engine, paired with a five-speed manual or AMT. The same engine is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit, solely with the manual transmission. The Aura’s 100PS turbo-petrol engine’s status of whether it’s coming back or not is yet to be known.
With the latest updates, the 2023 Hyundai Aura will have an upper hand over its rivals in terms of features. It goes head-to-head with the Maruti Dzire, Tata Tigor and Honda Amaze.
