  • Facelifted Hyundai Creta to be launched in India in 2024.
  • India-spec facelift will get bespoke styling not similar to the Indonesia model.
  • Feature additions include ADAS, 360-degree camera and a digital driver’s display.
  • 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines to be carried forward.
  • The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine will be upsized to a 1.5-litre unit.

The Hyundai Creta, which got its second generational update in 2020, is undoubtedly one of the carmaker’s best-selling models in India. And considering that there’s a facelifted version available overseas, you might be wondering when it would be coming here, right? Well, the updated model’s introduction, which was expected this year, will not be happening in 2023.

Rather, Hyundai said it’ll be launching the facelifted Creta in the country in 2024 and it won’t be the same as the Indonesian model that gets Tucson-like front end styling

The facelifted Hyundai Creta for the Indian market will get its own bespoke styling elements. How it will look is still a mystery as according to our sources, the model won’t have any resemblance to the version sold in Indonesia. You can also expect tweaks to be made to the bumpers, wheels and the rear end as well.

In terms of features, the biggest boost for the Creta will be the addition of ADAS, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring and a full digital driver’s display (à la the Alcazar). Bits like the panoramic sunroof, a Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six airbags and electronic stability control should be retained.

Right, now to the engines. The 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines should carry on in the SUV. But the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine is expected to be traded in for a 1.5-litre unit with more poke on offer. A six-speed manual is expected to be standard, while like the current model, it should get bespoke automatic transmissions. The six-speed iMT paired with the 1.5-litre engines is expected as well.

The facelifted Hyundai Creta will command a few extra bucks over the current model that is priced from Rs 10.64 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder and the like.
